Solar Cells
Introduction
The solar cells used on Sungroper's panels are 100mm square ASE high efficiency terrestrial solar cells. The cells have bevelled corners and an efficiency of 16%.
Solar cells are exceedingly brittle and fragile. Allowing for losses due to breakages during construction, 1000 cells were initially purchased with the intent to mount approximately 700 cells on the car itself.
